Dear Creech Jones,

CHINESE GOVERNMENT CLAIM FOR REQUISITIONED RAILWAY MATERIAL IN HONG KONG.

Thank you very much for your letter of 26th

July and for so kindly arranging for a meeting

between representatives of your Department, the

War Office and Mr. H. Y. Hsu. By mutual agree-

ment with Mr. W. L. Mussett we have changed the

date of the meeting to Thursday, 12th August.

Your scheme to get the interested parties

round a table seems the best way to deal with the

problem and I am sure that the Chinese Government

will appreciate this effort to arrive at a solution.

I am most grateful for all you have done.

Yours sincerely,

A. Creech Jones Esq., M.C.,

Downing Street, Whitehall,
